How To Update a Sensor On a Remote Network



Purpose

This document describes how to update a sensor on a remote network .

Introduction

How do you update a sensor after it's been deployed to a remote network and the only method of accessing/administering the sensor is via one or more of the Reverse SSH connectivity methods?

Updating a Sensor On a Remote Network

After having established connectivity from a system acting as the SSH Receiver with the sensor, become superuser, then run the px-system-update command/script as follows:

  1. Using SSH, login to the sensor with the pwnie user account.
  2. Next, type sudo su and press Enter, then retype the password to become superuser.

    BASH
    $ sudo su
  3. Next, type px-system-update and press Enter to update the sensor.

    BASH
    # px-system-update
