Deploy HIAB on Amazon Web Services



Purpose

This document describes all the steps necessary to launch a HIAB image on Amazon Web Services (AWS) using a disk of HIAB for AWS.

Introduction

An instance is a virtual server in the AWS Cloud. You launch an instance from an Amazon Machine Image (AMI) which provides the operating system, application server, and applications for your instance.

Requirements

Make sure that the HIAB image is properly set up on AWS, see Import Cloud Image on AWS for more information.

Start a HIAB Instance on AWS

To launch an HIAB Instance on AWS using and HIAB Image use the following steps:

  1. Open the AWS Console and select EC2 service.
  2. In the navigation pane, select Images.

  3. Search for the HIAB image and select it.

  4. Press the Launch button and follow the steps until the one about adding storage.

  5. Once you reach the storage step, just enter the size of the HIAB instance.

    By default it is recommended to use  a minimum of 60 GB EBS Volume as it can be scaled up later on. Depending on your setup and your workload, you can set a bigger size.

  6. Complete all the steps to finish the Launch wizard.
