Exclusions Required When a Proxy Server Is In Use

Purpose

This document provides the required information needed for the Stand-alone devices, Pwn Plug sensors, and Pwn Pro sensors, and communication with the Pulse when an Proxy Server is in use.

Introduction

Sensors do NOT support the use of a proxy server, application, or web filtering solution when retrieving updates or communicating with Pulse. This is because the sensors use a customized implementation of SSL and bi-directional authentication to ensure secure communication is maintained at all times.

Required Exclusions

Stand Alone Device

The following exclusions are required for all sensors being used as a stand-alone device and *not* communicating with Pulse

Pwn Plug Model Sensors

The following exclusions are additionally required for all Pwn Plug model sensors communicating with Pulse.

Note

The value of "subdomain" in the FQDN is specific to the Pulse subscription the sensor is to be registered with.

Pwn Pro Model Sensors

The following exclusions are additionally required for all Pwn Pro model sensors communicating with Pulse.
