Purpose
This document explains Outpost24’s three-tier support model for On-Premise Scanning and clarifies which deployment platforms are fully supported, merely compatible, or unsupported.
Introduction
On-Premise Scanning uses a three-tier support model based on the underlying platform and virtualization technology. The model separates fully supported and tested platforms from compatible platforms with limited support and configurations that are not supported.
Use the support tiers to select an appropriate platform before deploying On-Premise Scanning and to understand the available level of Outpost24 support. This reduces deployment risks and clarifies which platform-specific issues remain the customer responsibility.
Why a three tier system?
For customers:
-
Clear expectations before deployment
-
Flexibility to use compatible platforms
-
Risk-appropriate platform selection
For Outpost24:
-
Focused quality on tested platforms
-
Sustainable support scope
-
Resources concentrated where they matter most
Supported Vs. Compatible
Outpost24 supports the On-Premise Scanning software. If the operating system boots and meets the minimum requirements, Outpost24 helps troubleshoot On-Premise Scanning functionality. Platform-specific boot or import issues, such as cloud provider image conversion failures, are infrastructure issues outside the Outpost24 support scope.
Depending on the deployment platform, the following support conditions apply to Outpost24 software.
