End of Support Notice - HIAB and Outscan Classic

Last updated: 2026-08-25

Introduction

Outscan Classic and HIAB will reach End of Support on January 31, 2027.

After this date, Outpost24 will no longer provide fixes, enhancements, or maintenance for either platform. All customers should complete their migration to the Portal and, where applicable, the relevant HIAB replacement solution before the End of Support date.

As part of our continued investment in Outpost24, we are modernizing both the Portal and our scanning infrastructure to provide a more scalable, integrated, and efficient vulnerability and risk management experience.

The Portal provides the foundation for ongoing product development, while our next-generation scanning solutions are designed to improve deployment flexibility and performance. This modernization allows us to focus development and support on a unified technology foundation, enabling us to deliver new capabilities faster and provide a more consistent experience for customers.

What this means for your organization

The Portal is our next-generation platform for vulnerability and risk management, providing a more modern, efficient, and integrated experience. It introduces new functionality, improved workflows, and ongoing UX enhancements, with future product development focused on the Portal.

For customers using standard vulnerability scanning functionality, migration to the Portal is available now.

You can begin planning and preparing your migration today. The Portal provides access to capabilities including:

  • Centralized findings and asset management

  • Persistent findings and lifecycle tracking

  • Enhanced risk prioritization with EPSS and CISA KEV intelligence

  • Automated workflows and orchestration

  • Improved reporting and notifications

  • REST APIs and webhook integrations

  • SSO and role-based access control (RBAC)

  • Flexible asset grouping and tagging

We will contact you to introduce you to the Portal, discuss your current setup, and align on a migration timeline. We will support you throughout the transition and provide more details about the Portal and migration process during the meeting.

PCI ASV Customers

Customers using PCI ASV services can now use the Portal for their next PCI scanning cycle. If you currently have a PCI cycle in progress in Outscan Classic, you should complete that cycle in Classic and then set up your next cycle in the Portal.

There is no automated migration of existing PCI scopes or configurations. Customers will need to set up their new PCI scope in the Portal, including copying over the relevant assets.

Historical PCI data will remain available in Classic until the Classic shutdown. As part of the shutdown process, we plan to make the previous three years of PCI data available as read-only data.

Migration planning can begin now, and we will provide guidance to help ensure a smooth transition before the January 31, 2027 End of Support date.

HIAB Customers

The migration approach for HIAB depends on your current deployment.

  • HIAB customers and migrating from Classic to Portal UI: Customers can already migrate to the Portal while continuing to use their existing HIAB deployment.

  • HIAB with Outscan RC (Hybrid Cloud): Customers can transition from their existing HIAB scanners to Portal-native RC Scanners as a separate step.

  • Fully on-premises HIAB: Customers will be able to transition to our next-generation on-premises solution, as it becomes available in Q4 2026.

This phased approach allows customers to migrate to the Portal first and then modernize their scanning infrastructure separately, minimizing disruption while ensuring the transition is completed before HIAB reaches End of Support.

Portal-native RC Scanners

Portal-native RC Scanners provide a modern scanning solution designed to work directly with the Portal. They replace the need for the legacy Outscan RC and provide a more streamlined and flexible scanning experience.

Portal-native RC Scanners provide improvements including:

  • Native Portal integration with centralized scanner management and visibility

  • Simplified deployment and management through the Portal

  • Improved scalability and flexibility for distributed scanning environments

  • Modernized architecture designed to support ongoing development and future capabilities

We will work with you to understand your current HIAB setup, introduce the applicable replacement solution, and align on a migration timeline.

MSSP Partners

MSSP partners can already access and work with customer environments in the Portal today and can begin migrating end-customer accounts.

However, partner account administration, customer account creation, and customer account management will continue to be performed through Outscan Classic until the corresponding Portal capabilities become available, currently planned for Q4 2026.

Partners are encouraged to begin migration planning as early as possible so that customer environments can be transitioned ahead of the January 31, 2027 End of Support date.

We will work with you to review your customer environments, discuss the migration approach, and provide guidance on the capabilities that are currently available and those being introduced as part of the Portal transition.
